Job Details

Our client, will start to broadcast new sports content from early 2017 in Japan and because of that, they plan to expand marketing team for this new sports content.

Key Responsibilities
Main Purpose of Role 
  • Deliver our social strategy in Japan. 
  • You are responsible for the localisation and evolution of our global social strategy for Japanese consumers. 
  • To do this you must be a multi sports enthusiast who understands what is important to Japanese fans and can feed into the editorial agenda and content calendar, owned by marketing. 
  • You know how to create sharable content that resonates with sports fans and how to best engage with them. 
The Job 
  • Working with the Director of PR & Social and your marketing colleagues around the world you will support the delivery of game changing marketing communications for our live sports streaming service. 
Key Accountabilities 
  • Work with your local colleagues to shape the master content calendar for Japan. 
  • Prioritise and manage our presence across SNS platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other similar community sites. 
  • Manage our communities proactively and reactively including crisis and issues. 
  • Be responsible for delivering our brand ToV in social. 
  • Build external networks and grow the level of interest in our brand with key audiences e.g. rights holders, teams, players and fan networks. 
  • Work with agencies and the global team to implement multiple social media campaigns, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure effectiveness. 

Skills & Experience Required


  • 5+ years Social/PR/marketing experience.
  • Passionate about sport and technology. 
  • IT literate, including an understanding of multimedia editing and publishing tools. 
  • Excellent standard of written/spoken English and good presentation skills. 


  • Setting up social presences from scratch. 
  • Understanding of audience building techniques including the targeting and analytics functions of the leading networks. 
  • Excellent sports knowledge, news sense and editorial planning, with strong creative content writing skills. 
  • Measuring performance against traffic and audience targets, analysing competitors. 
  • Experienced in launching new or innovative products and services, ideally within an international environment balancing global strategy and local market needs.
