functions, product suite and technology platform. A strategic objective for
Catapult is to create commercial partnerships with leagues and conferences
Sports leagues, federations and associations are beginning to centralise
technology investments for teams and whilst Catapult are well positioned to
have a majority of teams ahead of these decisions, advancing our commercial
relationships with leagues proactively is strategically important.
The Head of League & Data Partnerships - APAC role will drive these
partnerships through their industry experience, existing relationships and
understanding of the teams key drivers for success. Success in this role
will create accelerated revenue growth for the entire Catapult group.
The role will report to the Global Head of League & Data Partnerships,
with daily interaction with regional Business Development Managers and
Sports Scientists. The individual must be independent and self-motivated,
making decisions in the interest of the global group. Attitude and
character will shape the role and how our global brand is represented in
making a difference to the lives of professional athletes and the Catapult
Dependent on the successful candidate, this role can be based in either
Shanghai, Beijing or Melbourne.
Deliver commercial agreements with key sports leagues across APAC
Develop existing Catapult strategic plans for key marquee leagues
For leagues responsibilities include;
Develop senior level relationships directly or facilitate for the Catapult Exec team.
Create relationships with player associations
Develop sales collateral using internal graphic design and content resource
Manage agency retainer contracts
Develop media-focused content
Manage brand and media partners
Support global Catapult initiatives initiatives including (but not limited to): Analytics productisation and commercialisation, Media content, broadcast integration, sub elite and prosumer opportunities, video analysis platform development.
Explore additional unit/revenue opportunities including sports tournaments and events
Be prepared to travel domestically, internationally and work flexible hours.
Issue resolution, communicating across global teams in US, UK and Australia.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience within a Business Development leadership role, with proven records of securing commercial agreements with senior league and/or conference stakeholders.
Existing relationships with senior league stakeholders in APAC relevant to Catapult developing commercial partnerships.
Knowledge or direct experience working in the sports analytics industry.
Startup or entrepreneurial experience in a small-growth enterprise or internal corporate startup, with demonstrated sales growth, is highly desired.
Understand basic sports science principles, how Catapult data is being applied in elite sport, and how the information benefits users.
Strong understanding of a range of sports - particularly Soccer and Basketball.
