Background
Catapult is an ASX listed business, with high growth and a market capitalisation that supports significant investment in growing its business functions, product suite and technology platform. A strategic objective for Catapult is to nurture existing partnerships with leagues in Australia. 
Sports leagues, federations and associations are beginning to centralise technology investments for teams. We have seen this evidenced in the AFL, NBL and ARU in Australia. Ensuring that these relationships continue to grow strategically and commercially will be a key component of the overall business success in the coming years.  
The League Partnerships role will drive these partnerships through their industry experience, existing relationships and understanding of the teams key drivers for success. Success in this role will create accelerated revenue growth, renewal of contracts and development of key stakeholder relationships for the entire Catapult group.
The role will report to the Global Head of League & Data Partnerships, with daily interaction with the Melbourne head office teams, including the Catapult Board members, Technical and Operational staff, Sports Scientists and administrative functions; Finance, HR. The individual must be independent and self-motivated, making decisions in the interest of the global group. Attitude and character will shape the role and how our global brand is represented in making a difference to the lives of professional athletes and the Catapult team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Renewal of key AUS league contracts
  • Develop senior league relationships directly or facilitate for the Catapult Exec team.
  • Deliver new commercial opportunities; Consumer, Sub-Elite, Tournaments/Events, Elite Performance Enhancements
  • Support new league business development to ensure a smooth handover following contract agreement
  • Create relationships with player associations, brand partners, broadcasters and other stakeholders
  • Support global Catapult initiatives including (but not limited to): Analytics production and commercialisation, broadcast integration, sub elite and prosumer opportunities, video analysis platform development.
  • Be prepared to travel domestically, internationally and work flexible hours.
  • Issue resolution, communicating across global teams in US, UK and Australia.

Skills & Experience Required

Desired:

  • Experience within a strategic Account Development leadership role, with proven records of securing renewed commercial agreements with leagues. 
  • Existing relationships with senior league stakeholders in AUS; AFL, NBL, ARU advantageous.
  • Knowledge or direct experience working in the sports analytics industry. 
  • Start-up or entrepreneurial experience in a small-growth enterprise or internal corporate start-up, with demonstrated sales growth, is highly desired.
  • Understand basic sports science principles, how Catapult data is being applied in elite sport, and how the information benefits users.
  • Strong understanding of a range of sports
