Background
Before the launch of Catapult and its ground breaking technology, monitoring elite athletes was predominantly laboratory-based, relying on participants using gym equipment, which, because these conditions did not mimic that of “in competition” demands, the athletes were not physically exerting themselves in the same way they would during competition.
The development of wearable sensors by CRC meant that this monitoring became more accessible to athletes, and more routinely deployable. Catapult was born out of the AIS and the cooperative research centres bringing together sport and science.
Catapult is now the global leader in athlete analytics, protecting thousands of elite athletes at the intersection of sport science and analytics.
The Role
 
Based in Melbourne or Singapore and reporting to the Head of APAC, this role requires a self-motivated individual making decisions in the best interests of Catapult. Catapult requires the services of a field-based Head of Sales to promote and drive growth of the Catapult range of products throughout the designated region.
 
A team of highly skilled and motivated Sport Scientists, based out of Catapults’ Melbourne office, will support this person who will be managing Business Development Managers in India, Singapore and Australia. 

Key Responsibilities
  • BSc and ideally a MSc in Sports Science, Sports Business (or related discipline) 
  • Fluent in English (desirable to be multilingual - Mandarin, Hindi, Thai)
  • Existing networks within elite sports in South East Asia, South Asia and/or Australia & New Zealand
  • Strong sales background within the Elite Sports sector
  • Experience working in a sporting club or sports brand environment
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and qualify new leads with long sales cycles.
  • Understanding of what our clients are trying to achieve, and how they go about the job
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Has a natural inclination towards technology.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic sports science principles, how Catapult data is being applied in elite sport, and how the information benefits users 
  • Proven self-motivated, Team Player
  • Ability to handle change
  • Ability to work logically
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and takes initiative
  • Can quickly learn new software platforms
