Our client, a leading player in the Outdoor Footwear market is seeking a Marketing Manager to determine and execute marketing and drive brand development and sales growth in accordance with global marketing strategy and UK Business Plans

 


The Role:

  • Develop a Marketing Strategy that is consistent with the global vision and brand positioning.
  • Determine a comprehensive Marketing Plan that embraces clearly defined brand, category, product and sales objectives.
  • Develop annual budget proposals. Monitor and report budget on a monthly basis
  • Plan and execute marketing activity plans for each season. Manage development & execution of brand-relevant consumer-facing programs or promotions to support sell in  & sell-through in-store
  • Liaise closely with the Sales team and manage development & execution of sell-in packages & sales materials for Retail, including sales presenters, catalogues and pos.
  • Work closely with Key Accounts Managers and major customers to develop Trade Marketing Plans
  • Significantly improve visual presence of the brand at retail. Develop and provide comprehensive POS support package, liaising with Sales team and, when relevant, key customers
  • Manage Marketing Assistant and Tech Rep /Trade Marketing team, directing focus and allocating priorities wherever appropriate
  • Plan and manage all assigned European Trade Shows and Conferences within agreed budgets.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

 

  • Significant experience in a brand marketing role
  • Ideally outdoor / sports / footwear industry experience, but not mandatory
  • Experienced in:

            - Developing Marketing Plans

            - Budget Determination and Control

            - Customer / Trade Marketing

            - Sales Promotion

            - PR

            - Media Planning

            - External Agency Management

  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Leadership qualities in impacting, contributing and challenging business strategy
  • Ability to think strategically, demonstrate financial and analytical skills, and execute multiple projects while maintaining an acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent Organisation and planning skills
  • Interpersonal skills – able to challenge, communicate, rationalise, influence and convince at all levels
  • Creativity / problem solving
  • Affinity for / interest in sports / outdoor lifestyle
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
