The Role:
Execute merchandising strategies that maximize sales, margin, inventory turnover, visual presentation and customer satisfaction. Drives daily execution for planning, buying analyzing merchandising, forecasting and distribution of the merchandise while adhering to company and divisional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Drive financial results that maximise sales, inventory and bottom line profitability. Manager the financial success of several department by meeting sales, gross margin and inventory turn goals.

Analyse historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities at department and class

Work with Merchandising Dept to create preseason sales, and gross margin plans by department that support product strategies

Recap and analyse actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly monthly and quarterly basis. Work with Merchandising Dept to create open-to-buy forecasts, re-forecast sales and manage inventory for all basic styles to meet department financial goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional team on basic replenishment styles to drive inventory requirement to meet in-stock targets.

Work with Merchandising Dept to create seasonal merchandise financial plans and performs monthly re-forecast of business by classification, department and division. Develop assortment plans in units and dollars, participate in developing objectives.

Strategise anticipated product demand based on timing of mark down and holidays.

Generate data and make recommendations base on analysis of merchandise performance. Analyse colour, size, class and division selling to provide feedback to Retail Team and take actions to drive business to improve future purchase decisions. Create selling report, historical recaps and ad hoc reports to analyze and communicate business performance.

Review sales results to strategize timely mark-down strategies and manages old age inventories conclusions about business trends.

Collaborate with marketing to determine layout of web page by category, style and colour according to season and trends to cross sell and up sell. Lead copy and photo briefs for product. Attend photography as needed.
Skills & Experience Required

3-7 years of retail buying experience, with 2 years the Buyer level

Advanced computer skills required, including a solid knowledge of Windows

Strong analytical skills

Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

Possesses an ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them

Must be detailed oriented

Catalog/Web buying experience a plus
