Job Details

Salomon is a market leader in outdoor and winter sport footwear, apparel and equipment. As part of their global marketing team they require an experienced Brand Marcomms Manager to manage Salomon’s Outdoor Brand Equity and drive the global marketing strategy, programs, tools and spend. The candidate will come with international strategic marketing capabilities from sports or luxury brands or an FMCG environment who is an active participant in Outdoor pursuits. This is a critical role for the business and requires a strategically savvy individual who understands the science of marketing and can clearly visualise the direction of the Brand.


 

Key responsibilities

  • To lead and own the Outdoor Brand Equity pyramid. Ensure each category has a clear product innovation and product design brief with agreed principles. 
  • To ensure that the product categories execute according to the Brand Equity.
  • Setting objectives and corresponding KPIs in alignment with the Brand and Outdoor business goals.
  • Lead the group work to identify and articulate the vision of outdoor sports, product direction and market evolution.
  • To drive the “Who”, animate the “What” and create the “How” in the Outdoor categories.
  • Develop and execute the growth strategies for the major regions, considering differences in segment development.
  • To manage the Global Outdoor Marketing Strategy, programs, toolbox and marketing budget.
  • To ensure maximum return on investment of the Global Outdoor Marketing Plan.

 

 

Essential duties

  • To work closely with the footwear and apparel categories to create the outdoor specific marketing strategy and product line ups.
  • To work closely with the other contributors within Global MarCom in order to create the marketing programs and toolbox.
  • To work closely with the Softgoods Commercial Team in order to coordinate common Go-To-Market objectives.
  • To work closely with local marketing offices in order to guarantee local relevance and execution of the global marketing plan.
  • To work closely with the other Brand Managers to ensure a one brand voice and maximize cross sport opportunities.
  • To lead the Outdoor Brand team consisting of the Outdoor Sports Marketing Manager and The Outdoor Go-To-Market Marketing Manager.

 

 

Profile, main competencies & skills required

  • Business School or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years International Brand Management experience in a leading consumer company.
  • Strategic brand and marketing capacity.
  • Visionary outdoor sports insight.
  • Creative marketing capacity.
  • Keen interest in marketing communications and especially social media.
  • Experience working and leading projects in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across all functions/teams
  • Exceptional oral/written communication and presentation skills
  • Deep personal interest and understanding of outdoor sports and industry.
  • Avid trail running and hiking practitioner.
  • Product interest and understanding.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills and at least one other major European language.
  • Ability to travel.
