Purpose of role

Absolute Radio is looking to strengthen their sponsorship team with the recruitment for a Sponsorship Account Manager. The role will be responsible for selling and managing all aspects of specific on-air, online and event sponsorships as well as spotlight feature series. This role will encompass all sponsorship properties but with a specific focus on their sport properties and proposals.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • To identify and secure new business opportunities
  • To build relationships with clients and agencies, managing a specific agency portfolio
  • To develop and create sponsorship sales pitches/documents and plans
  • To manage information, educate and support for the whole sales team on specific properties to enable sales
  • To negotiate with clients and agencies on Sponsorships and Spotlight campaigns
  • To manage all aspects of specific live sponsorship accounts
  • To manage all aspects of the sale of specific non-live sponsorships
  • To support Head of Sponsorship with overall sponsorship initiatives internally and externally
  • Build an maintain relationships within the wider sales team to assist and drive the sale of properties
  • To build internal relationships with all departments to manage the running of Sponsorships


Experience Required

  • An excellent understanding of and passion for sport, particularly football
  • Proven experience in Radio or Media sales – preferably with experience working in sponsorship/promotions
  • Experience of working with senior agency and client contacts
  • Previous experience of selling sporting media properties an advantage
  • Developed agency and client contacts, ideally in sponsorship departments
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of OFCOM and RACC codes and guidelines
  • High standard of communication skills – oral and written
  • Able to prioritise and manage numerous projects at one time
