Based in Southern Switzerland and reporting to the Development Manager you will be an integral part of the Product Development team in the brands’ European Headquarters.



General Summary

As a member of the team, you will be involved in taking product from design concept, to salesman samples, and into production. Liaising with the Product Manager, designers, factories to ensure ideas and concepts are executed in the best possible way, meeting company profit margins; ensuring quality standards; and ensuring suitability for end use for the consumer.

 

Primary Accountabilities

  • Review new concepts / styles with Designers/Product Managers and translate them into specification packages with accurate technical details; bill of materials, construction details, size specs and grades using our in-house PDM system.
  • Fit and evaluate samples and execute all development changes.
  • Prepare and lead fit sessions; offering suggestions on improved construction; aesthetics; fit and consistency
  • Plan and track development schedule of all products to ensure timely completion
  • Work with vendors to build best possible quality product
  • Maintain in-house work in progress reports and ensure all key global deadlines are
    met
  • Work with Product Acquisition to ensure timely delivery of sales samples
  • Work with USA / Asia colleagues to ensure all products meet required standards

 

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities
required for the individual to be successful in this position.

Preferably, the ideal candidate will have experience in the development of (but not solely)
logowear and sportswear garments. The ideal candidate should be willing to work as part of
a team, as well as individually manage the development of their responsible category. The
ability to interact with Product Managers, Sourcing team and vendors is essential. Good
attention to detail; ability to work under pressure, being open minded and flexible - are all
considered key qualities of our client's desired candidate.

  • Education: Preferably educated to degree level in a textile, manufacturing or engineering profession within the apparel industry. Alternatively a proven track record, of at least 3 years in the clothing industry.
  • Language skills: Excellent understanding of the English language especially in manufacturing and technical terms
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Windows applications to include Illustrator, Word and Excel; and preferably experience (but not essential) of working on PDM systems.
    Ability to successfully adjust to rapid change.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
