A leader in the wholesale and retail sporting goods industry in Europe are recruiting two senior Sourcing Directors to manage their sports and casual sourcing business.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Development of garments suppliers sourcing network, matching agreed criteria
• Creation of strategic sourcing function
• Sourcing function structure and split of responsibilities development
• Supplier performance evaluation system set up
• Transfer of sample development responsibility to overseas offices
• Transfer of buying responsibility to overseas offices
• Together with product creation team go to market time decrease to 44 weeks (by means of making procedures more formalized, simplified, standardized)
• Costing function setup
• Build and update estimated first cost data base
• Analyze and validate product packages relative to target first costs versus current market estimated first costs
• Drive initial negotiations with cross functional stakeholders and suppliers
• Ensure social and legal compliance criteria are validated for the sourcing matrix
• Validate AQL requirements can be  achieved
• Quantify and maintain current supplier projected capacity yields are consistent with our projected demand plans
• Guide overseas office teams relative to supplier selection process and related activity to include samples, protos etc.
• Contribute and update supplier evaluation inputs

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven supplier relationship attributes to include cost analysis, total cost of ownership components, and vendor management.
• Strong hands on proven  experience and full understanding of  apparel sourcing in China, India, Bangladesh
• Cross functional team player experience
