Background

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the world governing body for the sport and has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Working closely with its Member Associations and the five Continental Confederations for badminton, the BWF promotes, presents, develops, and regulates the sport worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing staff in the Communication Department;
  • Implementing and further developing BWF Communication Strategy;
  • Coordinating the BWFs interaction with media organisations;
  • Coordinating the media relations at BWF events;
  • Managing content generation on BWF media platforms;
  • Coordinating the management of the content of the BWF websites and New Media platforms;
  • Organising and running of Press Conferences;
  • Managing BWF photo partners and achieve function;
  • Drafting official communication;
  • Assisting with on-going positive relations with media / media organisations.


Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Experience in management and strategic development in the communication area;
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
  • A good planner and have excellent organisational skills;
  • An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills;
  • Have been involved in media in a sports or commercial organization;
  • A flexible attitude in working with a small team of personnel will be essential.


Desirable:

  • Having worked in a multi-cultural environment will be an advantage as will being fluent in other languages;
