Hong Kong Football Association seeks new CEO and Head Coach to transform football in Hong Kong 20/07/2011

The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) has today announced the start of the formal search process to recruit a new CEO and National Team Manager. This news comes as a response to wide ranging recommendations following a recent government approved review.

The review, a blueprint for change entitled ‘Develop – Deliver’ includes 33 recommendations that have been approved in principle by the Board of the HKFA. Included within the recommendations is a new organisational structure which advocates the appointment of a number of new members of staff.

Central to this is the need for a world class Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to implement and execute the changes to the Governance, Constitution and Structure of football in Hong Kong.

In addition the HKFA wish to appoint a National Team Manager / Coach with responsibility for the Senior and Age-Grade representative teams and the development of a long-term coaching development infrastructure.

Vincent Yuen, General Secretary of HKFA stated "The importance of these two positions to the future development of football in Hong Kong can not be over-stated".

The HKFA has appointed Sports Recruitment International (SRI), to deliver the two key positions tasked with transforming the sport of football in Hong Kong.

Mr Yuen started, "It was imperative that we worked with a world-class executive search firm with impeccable sporting credentials and we believe we have found that in SRI. They were appointed based on the quality of their team and truly global reach. They have an unrivalled reputation for senior search assignments in the sporting arena and a thorough understanding of our requirements."

The search will be headed by Will Banbury, Partner for Asia and supported by Directors across Europe and Asia Pacific regions. "The HKFA is committed to securing world class talent to assist them in achieving their vision for football in Hong Kong. We are delighted to be partnering with them on these crucial appointments", Mr Banbury said.
