The role

In this role you will be responsible to define, implement and manage the global footwear and apparel strategy. You will lead the future and present business development, as well as driving the product strategy of all product categories of the business unit. As Global Business Unit Manager you will drive and lead the development of products, product ranges, communication, services, and trade marketing strategies to support the businesses goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the worldwide Business Plan in order to achieve value creation objectives and develop a growth strategy for this category
  • Gather and analyse relevant market and consumer intelligence to identify “new” business opportunities across the category
  • Ensure the product strategy is implemented worldwide at the right level taking into account local specificities
  • Drive the development of integrated marketing and communication concepts that support the businesses goals and strategy
  • Have the best shoes & apparel offer in line with brand’s specifications
  • Propose the right Product Lifecycle and marketing support plan
  • Build and manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders on all levels
  • Manage, develop and guide the Business Unit team cross-functionally and ensure high level of team performance
  • Implement and analyse KPI, and communicate the analysis to the team; manage the monthly KPI for the Board
  • Define the Business Unit guidelines by zone and the development of the different product ranges for key accounts
  • Monitor the development and ensure deadlines are met
  • Drive execution of product creation and timely delivery of products
  • Lead the development of plans for launches as well as for advertising and promotional support
  • Play an active part in the Go-To-Market process
  • Manage the budget and balanced score card monitoring; give reporting of the categories

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 – 15 years’ experience in a similar post managing apparel and footwear products in an premium brand
  • Relevant university and/or business school education (Master Degree in business is preferred)
  • Highly skilled in strategic planning, project management, as well as gathering and interpreting consumer and market insight
  • Strategic, commercial thinking and planning, as well as entrepreneurial approach
  • High level of experience in leading a multifunctional organization with skills in collaborating and influencing in a matrix organization
  • In-depth cross-functional know-how of brand management, marketing, Go-to-Market, product development and sales
  • Strong strategic skills with track record of business judgment and analysing data to improve decision making
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and proven leadership skills with collaborative team-spirit and ability to build relationships with executive leadership across multiple internal functions and external agencies
  • Proactive approach with the ability of independent work, demonstrating strong initiative, energy and passion
  • Computer literacy with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluency in English (any other EU language is an advantageous)
  • Availability for frequent worldwide travel
