FOX Network Group Asia (FNG) is 21st Century FOX’s international multi-media business. FNG develops, produces and distributes more than 300 wholly- and majority-owned entertainment, sports, factual and movie channels in 45 languages across Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. FNG’s core channel brands include FOX, FOX Sports, FOX Life, FOX+ and National Geographic Channel. FNG’s movie channels include FOX Movies, FOX Movies Premium and SCM (formerly Star Chinese Movies. Non-linear brands include FOX Play, FOX Play+ and Nat Geo Play. These networks and their related mobile, non-linear and high-definition extensions, reach over 1.8 billion cumulative households worldwide. In addition, FNG owns and operates two production studios and produces thousands of local programming hours for its wholly owned channels and third parties.

The National Geographic Channels is a joint venture between 21st Century Fox and the National Geographic Society. As a global leader in premium science, adventure and exploration programming, the Channels include: National Geographic Channel (NGC), Nat Geo WILD, Nat Geo People and Nat Geo MUNDO. The Channels contribute to the National Geographic Society’s commitment to exploration, conservation and education with entertaining, innovative programming from A-level talent around the world, and with profits that help support the society’s mission. Globally, NGC is available in more than 440 million homes in 171 countries and 45 languages.

In 2016, FNG National Geographic Channels announced a three-year partnership with China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC) that will bring viewers a brand new block of programming showcasing the hidden natural beauty and culture of China.

China Revealed will be a global window onto the country, with programming that explores a new perspective on China. Broadcasting to an international audience covering 170 countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America, China Revealed will reach an estimated 300 million households globally.

Fox Networks Group is also investing in building its Fox Sports business practice in China, which will enhance significantly their content portfolio across all lifestyle sectors in the local market.

As the FNG business continues to grow in China, the demand of a Commercial Vice President arises from the team. Reporting to Tony Qi, China Head, the Commercial VP will be an independent, mature and hands-on Senior Ad Sales professional with in-depth understanding of the China media ad-sales market and a well-established network with existing and potential clients (both public and private entities). He/She will need to have a solid track record of leading and growing the Ad Sales business/Marketing business with multinational companies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop Ad sales partnership with CHINA-based clients for local promotion on National Geographic brand, Fox Sports brands, etc. and regional outbound promotion on National Geographic and other FNG brands, with efficient and appropriate utilization of FNG portfolios and services; be able to achieve yearly sales target.
  • Proactively and aggressively develop and maintain good relationships with China government clients i.e. tourism boards, industrial zones, government bureaus, etc., to set up wide and deep recognition of FNG brands and programs, making FNG products as final choice for government client’s oversea promotional campaigns.
  • Proactively and aggressively develop and maintain relationship with China local direct clients and agencies, to make sure National Geographic and other FNG programs in CHINA are within their promotional campaign and TV media partner-list.
  • Cooperate with FNG regional team on regional business operation and specifically offer China market local support when required.
  • Independently lead and drive Ad funded partnership under compliance with FNG brand value. 

Basic Requirements

  • Educational Qualification- University Degree or above
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in advertising and media industry
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team
  • Evidence of ability and willingness to take on detailed implementation tasks when necessary
  • Can work on own initiative and show enthusiasm
  • Excellent command of Mandarin and English, CET 6 for Chinese candidates; oral proficiency in Mandarin for foreign candidates
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional attitude and approach to business
