Coordinator, Seniors Tennis – ITF

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis and is the officially-recognised affiliate body for tennis by the International Olympic Committee. Its mission is to develop, promote and grow tennis throughout the world. The ITF is responsible for five areas of the game:

  • Promoting the game. The ITF uses a variety of media, including print, television, event management, sponsorship and other means to develop, promote and grow tennis.
  • Administration and regulation. The ITF has over 200 affiliated National Associations. It is the guardian of the Rules of Tennis, including the technical specifications for courts and equipment, and the administration and enforcement of the Tennis Anti- Doping Programme on behalf of the ATP, the WTA and the Grand Slam Board. With those bodies, the ITF is also a partner in the Tennis Integrity
  • Organising international competition. The ITF organises a range of events, including the world’s two largest annual international team competitions in sport: Davis Cup by BNP Paribas for men; and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas for women. In addition, the ITF is involved in the organisation of the Olympic Tennis Event and the Hopman
  • Structuring the game. The ITF is also responsible for the men’s and women’s Pro Circuit events, and Juniors, Seniors, Wheelchair and Beach Tennis
  • Developing the game. Through its worldwide development and participation programmes, the Grand Slam Development Fund and ITF invest more than $4 million into initiatives for the growth of tennis around the world annually,

 Overview of the Seniors Tennis area:

The Seniors team is responsible for delivering three (3) official ITF World Team and Individual Championships annually. In addition the team is responsible for the administration and development of the ITF Seniors Circuit and its related projects. The circuit currently has over 430 tournaments taking place around the world with over 26,000 players registered.

The Role

The role of the Coordinator is to assist with the coordination of the ITF Seniors Circuit and the successful organization of the major (World and Regional) Championship events. The Seniors Circuits has grown significantly in recent years and are currently undergoing a review to ensure that the existing structure continues to provide the necessary framework to meet their objectives. Although predominantly an administrative role, the Coordinator will be involved in the organization and on site delivery of the various Seniors World Championship events and strategic projects related to Seniors Tennis.


  • Provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders, deal with player queries and liaise with tournament organisers and regional/national associations
  • Process tournament applications and maintain the calendar throughout the year
  • Process and publish tournament fact sheets
  • Process tournament Entries/Withdrawals and Acceptance Lists
  • Ensure receipt and processing of weekly results and reports from tournaments
  • Provide tournaments and Referees with necessary documentation on a weekly basis
  • Calculate and record player ranking points and publish Rankings on a weekly basis
  • Provide content for and update ITF Seniors website and newsletters
  • Assist with administration and preparation associated with World Championship events
  • Assist with application of Regulations and Code of Conduct
  • Assist with collection and analysis of statistics where necessary
  • Produce and distribute tournament sanction fee invoices on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of papers for Committee and Board Meetings
  • Attendance at events, particularly some or all Seniors World Championships
  • Work on specific projects as and when assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Interest in sport and knowledge of tennis desirable
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Languages: German and/or French
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail/accuracy
  • General consistency and ability to focus on routine tasks
  • Very good communication skills, written and oral
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Enthusiastic and motivated
  • Diplomatic
  • Flexible attitude


  • Permanent full time position core hours 9.15am-5.15pm, Mon-Fri
