FIBA, the International Basketball Association and Wanda, through its subsidiary Infront Sports & Media, announced in 2016 a long-term strategic partnership to drive FIBA’s marketing activities. For the period of four FIBA world Cup cycles up to 2033, Wanda will be FIBA’s worldwide exclusive partner for the sale and marketing of the worldwide sponsorship and licensing rights across World Cups, Qualifiers, Continental Cups, and Youth World Championships. The partnership has seen the creation of FIBA Marketing a cooperation between FIBA and Wanda’s Infront team focused on supporting FIBA in developing awareness and value of national team basketball on a global basis with an emphasis on Asia.

The Role – FIBA Marketing – Head of Sales APAC

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of FIBA Marketing based in Switzerland, Infront now requires an experienced Head of Sales to drive sponsorship sales for FIBA in Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on acquiring top level international sponsors for FIBA World Cups and Continental Championships in Asia; project relevant digital content platform and project relevant events
  • Develop and foster relationships to key clients in the market
  • Utilize diverse and solid portfolio to penetrate previously untapped sponsorship prospects
  • Garner market intelligence/research and develop sales tools and campaigns for targeted clients, demonstrate ROI of sponsorship to clients
  • Acquisition of new sponsorship clients, contract negotiations/renewals, client relationships
  • Integrate into Infront Group cross-selling activities


  • Advanced education (university degree in business administration, communications and/or sales/marketing)
  • At least 5 years of sales experience in an international environment (sports industry or entertainment business – agency, sponsor brand, sports federation, club, media, etc.)
  • Relationships and direct access to decision-makers at leading regional and global companies focusing on sponsorship
  • Ability to take to market new sponsorship structures and platforms
  • Experience selling Digital Media sponsorship platforms

  • English fluent and proficient in Chinese
  • Additional languages such as German, French, or Italian, are advantageous
