Head of Sales – Northeast Asia

Reporting to the Head of APAC, this role must be independent and self-motivated – making decisions in the best interests of Catapult. Catapult requires to promote and drive growth of the Catapult range of products throughout a designated region within the Japan and Korea market.

This role will also work with and support Catapults’ Direct and Distributor sales network within the designated region. A team of highly skilled and motivated Sport Scientists, based out of Catapults’ Melbourne office as well as a Sports Scientist based out of Beijing will support this person.

Prospecting

  • Create and build good relationships with customers and prospects through personal contact, meetings, conference attendance and via telephone, email etc.
  • Identify and buld relationships with key decision makers of prospective clients
  • Acit as a bridge between the company and its current market and future markets
  • Support our on-line sales growth
  • Efficiently gather market and customer information to qualify each prospect buying intention and ability, to support negotiation on price, delivery and customer management.

Build Pipeline

  • Creating a prospective client pipeline through contacts, networking, relevant events, and conferences
  • Validate pipeline through research into prospective client intention and training strategies
  • Ensure sales pipeline is accurate and up to date
  • Respond quickly to prospective client queries

Making Sales

  • Manage pipeline of clients from initial contact through to presentations and closing the sale

Knowledge Bank

  • As new queries are uncovered that are not covered in the Knowledge Bank, they are added and categorised appropriately

 Key experience

  • BSc and ideally a MSc in Sports Science, Sports Business (or related discipline)
  • Ability to speak multiple languages – Japanese & English
  • Existing networks within elite sports in Japan
  • Strong sales background within the Elite Sports sector
  • Experience working in a sporting club environment
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and qualify new leads with long sales cycles.
  • Understanding of what our clients are trying to achieve, and how they go about the job
  • Strong understanding of the Chinese Super League and Asian Football Confederation and Regional Institutes of Sports
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Has a natural inclination towards technology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic sports science principles, how Catapult data is being applied in elite sport, and how the information benefits users
  • Proven self-motivated, Team Player
  • Ability to handle change
  • Ability to work logically
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and takes initiative
  • Can quickly learn new software platforms
  • Has a natural inclination towards technology.
