Background

STH is a premium spectator experience business, with unparalleled expertise. They provide exclusive access to events and their world class hospitality services ensure spectators can completely immerse themselves in the passion and drama of the occasion and enjoy a shared experience they will remember for a lifetime. STH is also the exclusive global hospitality and travel provider for Japan Rugby World Cup 2019.

This appointment gives STH global rights to design, sell and operate hospitality packages for the biggest sporting event of 2019. They also have the right to appoint a network of Official Travel Agents who will sell the Official Travel Programme to rugby fans around the world.

STH requires a Head of Ticketing to lead the ticketing operations of the hospitality packages, build the ticketing team and have overall responsibility for allocations and distribution.

The Role

The Head of Ticketing is responsible for the control, management and distribution of the ticket allocations for both the STH travel and hospitality programmes. The ideal candidate will be English / Japanese bi-lingual with more than 8 years of ticketing experience. A structured approach, with a track record of leading high performing teams across ticketing and accreditation and a passion for sport and outstanding experiences are essential.

High energy and ‘internationalised’, the Head of Ticketing will be integral to STH’s future business activity and growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • To provide leadership and oversee the control of the event ticket inventory allocated to STH Japan
  • To agree with JR2019 the ticket allocations and manage the periodic hand back of any unused tickets in line with agreed procedures
  • To manage the allocation of event tickets by event, venue and ticket category, ensuring that the event ticket requirements meet ticket allocations
  • To strategically allocate different event tickets to the appropriate sales streams
  • To ensure event ticket allocations are operationally efficient

Hospitality Accreditations Strategy

  • To develop the design of hospitality accreditations together with the Operations and Marketing teams
  • To research and implement systems for the production of hospitality accreditation
  • To allocate event tickets and hospitality accreditations to hospitality customers In line with orders placed
  • To research and implement a secure and cost-effective method of hospitality accreditation distribution

Operations and Controls

  • To control (as agreed with STH Japan) the printing of event tickets in line with sales orders and payments made
  • To control the printing and production of hospitality accreditations
  • To manage the manufacture of hospitality packs containing event tickets, hospitality accreditation, holders, lanyards, maps, itineraries
  • To control the dispatch of all hospitality packs
  • To implement a tracking system to record delivery to hospitality customers

Communication and Reporting

  • To be the STH Japan point of contact with JR2019 in relation to all event ticketing matters
  • To report back to the President and Head of Operations on the time frames of ticket management and effectiveness of the ticket strategy within STH Japan
  • To report to the President on a daily basis on the fulfillment of hospitality packages

Management

  • To oversee an appropriate organisational structure to ensure that the objectives of the business

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8-10 years of solid experience of hospitality ticketing/accreditation for multi-venue/major events
  • Strong experience gained from working across multiple markets
  • Exceptional project management and organisational skills
  • High level of integrity and credibility
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Strong communications skills with bilingual capabilities in both English and Japanese
