Media Sales Executive


World Rugby is the world governing and law-making body for the sport of Rugby Union based in Dublin. In addition to its governance functions World Rugby organises a number of international tournaments and events including the Rugby World Cup, Women’s Rugby World Cup and the annual HSBC Rugby Sevens World Series and Women’s Sevens World Series Competitions.

World Rugby wishes to appoint a Sales Executive, Media Rights, based in Dublin, reporting to the Broadcast Operations & Media Rights Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of budgets and financial targets.
  • Implement agreed plans for World Rugby programming and competition rights, including following up of potential sales leads, with both existing and new customers, implementing the entire sales process from initial contact to close of contract in all nominated territories including negotiations, contract drafting and execution, content delivery and billing.
  • Manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Implement efficient sales processes and programming delivery, manage client requests providing assistance as necessary, in maintaining and enhancing positive relationships.
  • Maintain updated contract and sales status reports.
  • Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships across all business areas.
  • Liaison with the Communications, Digital & Competitions departments, to meet their respective objectives.
  • Liaison with the Finance and Legal departments on contract tracking, invoicing and fee collection for internal reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Business / business related degree qualification.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a media rights, TV broadcasting and client servicing environment.
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of the international broadcast market.
  • Proven track-record of strong client relationship management and deal negotiation.
  • Fluent English mandatory.
  • Other language skills advantageous.
  • Exposure to the sports media/broadcasting industry beneficial.
