We have an exciting opportunity for a talented PR Account Manager to join our Communications team working as the designated Press Officer on one of the agency’s flagship accounts, Jaguar’s Formula E team, Panasonic Jaguar Racing.

Jaguar, a longstanding client of CAA Sports, is approaching the end of its second season in Formula E – the Electric Street Racing Series. CAA has been appointed to refresh and reenergise its communication strategy to excite and engage fans with Panasonic Jaguar Racing (PJR).

Jaguar’s ambition is to become the number one team in Formula E and position themselves as the leader in premium electric battery vehicles. Our approach is to focus on the team’s innovative traits to spearhead a bold, newsworthy and creative PR & Communications programme that shares the visions and aspirations of the brand & team.

The Role

The role requires a strong communications all-rounder at Account Manager level with experience in a similar press officer role, managing media operations on the ground, producing and distributing news reports live from event and supporting the overarching ‘Race to Innovate’ PR strategy.

Due to the niche nature of the role, motorsport experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with exceptional written and organisational skills, a proactive approach to client servicing combined with a solid understanding of the ever-changing media landscape and PR disciplines within it. This person’s character should match that of the teams – passionate, professional and innovative.

Our objective is to create exciting and unique content and coverage to our target audience; media, markets and fans.

 Travel overseas is a key requisite of the role and attendance on race weekends is mandatory.


  • Manage and monitor all external communications and messaging as it relates to the team
  • Support overarching ‘Race to Innovate’ PR strategy devising unique, innovative ways to keep media and fans engaged with the team on and off-race
  • Facilitate and manage all media operations for the team and drivers at races i.e press conferences, mix zones, exclusive interviews
  • Brief official suppliers and manage approval process to ensure timely delivery of race day assets for distribution to media
  • Produce and distribute all press materials – including pre and post-race reports, team and sponsor announcements, photography, video and crisis communications
  • Race planning including updating master event and driver schedules
  • Liaising with FIA, Formula E Holdings and partners
  • Event logistics including transfer requirements, show car requirements and accreditation process
  • Awareness and appreciation of PR, digital and social media channel integration
  • Idea generation and Jaguar Land Rover cross-partnership promotion opportunities
  • Work closely with the team’s Social Media Manager to monitor how the team is being represented in the media and provide regular updates
  • Track coverage and manage measurement and evaluation process with suppliers (PRIME, Meltwater, TvEyes)
  • Manage all incoming enquiries from media and Jaguar Land Rover markets
  • Requirement to travel and provide services at every race

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in PR and Communications
  • 1+ years’ experience as a press officer in some capacity
  • Exceptional written skills and attention to detail
  • Creative flair with a passion for ideas and innovative thinking
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a proactive can-do attitude
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously as required
  • Best in class client servicing, account handling and project management
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Motorsport/automotive/global brand experience preferable
