Canada Goose is headquartered in Toronto and due to continued growth across Asia and the Globe, now seeks a Regional Raw Materials Manager based in Hong Kong.

The Role

The Regional Raw Materials Manager will report into a Global Manager function, working closely with other Product Division personnel, including QA, Materials Development, Procurement, Production, Technical and Merchandising teams. The Regional Raw Material Manager (RRMM) will develop build relationships with supply chain partners (Suppliers) who can deliver on the quality business objectives of Canada Goose. Applying proven expertise, industry knowledge, strong management experience, business acumen and leaderships skills to enhance the goals and expertise of the Q.A. department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a robust process for pre-shipment approval including sampling and testing
  • Ensure inspection is in place to reduce the risk of low standard product delivery into the Canada Goose supply chain
  • Maintains product consistency throughout all the build phases, quality checkpoints and testing
  • Develops and manages quality assurance metrics of contractor and supplier performances; develops corrective action plans and monitors improvements
  • Ensure proactive in-house and field audits to guarantee production quality consistency & protection of delivery windows
  • Provide leadership developing and directing QA and quality improvement initiatives for all company products and services
  • Monitors QA reports, systems and advise the executive team on overall quality achievements & performances; potential issues and publish statistics regarding performance against set goals
  • Create and maintain QA control documentation
  • Identify relevant QA training needs and opportunities
  • Maintain a constant awareness of company profitability, including budgetary control issues
  • Leading the implementation, management and communication of the sourcing strategy in fabric mills, dye houses and trim suppliers
  • Managing colour development and continuity for quality assurance
  • Good understanding of sourcing, analyzing performance of all fabric mills, factories, printers, laundries and other related suppliers
  • Managing on-boarding of all new Suppliers to ensure a smooth on-boarding transition while analyzing the vendor performance
  • Partnering with cross-functional team across the product division to ensure quality consistency and brand alignment
  • Creatively troubleshooting raw material issues with Production, QA and Procurement

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Post-Secondary degree in Fashion, Pattern Making or Textile Technology or Textile Engineering
  • Must have a good understanding of Fabric Dyeing and Finishing
  • A minimum 8 – 10 years of Quality Assurance experience in the Apparel Manufacturing industry
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience in textile industry an asset
  • Technical Outerwear knowledge and hands-on production experience a requirement
  • Experienced working with outerwear garments is an asset
  • Must be analytical, strategic and identify the plans which need to be implemented to meet the goal
  • Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, design documents, and policy/process procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships across the business
  • Strong MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits
  • Strong problem identification and creative problem solving/resolution skills
  • Experience of managing teams, sourcing, fabric development, overseas suppliers and vendors in the apparel industry
  • Experienced in strategy, time and action / calendar management, raw materials and production lead times
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Strong ability to lead a team, to develop and manage departments
