Sales Director – Ultimate Experience

Ultimate Experience are the most in demand seasonal venue hire and event management company in London. This year, Ultimate Experience will host in excess of 225 events across the summer (June/July) and winter (Nov/Dec) seasons within the Ultimate venue portfolio which includes Old Billingsgate Market, the Roundhouse, OXO2 in the OXO Tower, Plaisterers Hall and Ultimate’s very own venues; City Central at the HAC and The Pavilion at the Tower of London. Over 100,000 guests will walk-through these venues doors for a variety of events which primarily include Awards Dinners, Charity Fundraising Dinners, Family Fun Days, Product Launches, Conferences and Corporate Parties.

The Ultimate Experience team is a knowledgeable and dedicated group of event managers who sell and operate events within the Ultimate Experience venue portfolio. Whilst all 15 members of Ultimate Experience are responsible for retaining their clients through proactive account management; the company, in line with its growth ambitions, now wishes to install a dedicated sales resource with accountability for proactive business development.

The Role

As Sales Director, your prime focus will be to develop and implement robust sales plans in order to grow the business profitably both reactively and proactively. You will oversee a dedicated sales team, including recruitment and development as necessary, to achieve agreed sales budgets. You will hold weekly sales meetings and produce weekly sales reports for the MD and wider Senior Team. You will devise and communicate individual sales targets and help to implement a sales commission structure. You will also lead from the front with a proactive approach to new business and personal sales.

Responsibilities

As Sales Director, your role will include, but not unlimited to:

  • Drive and manage the sales team to achieve agreed budgets
  • Manage individuals in line with business objectives to manage workload, development and support with their job duties and responsibilities. This will include appraisals and 1-2-1’s
  • Develop and execute a successful and dynamic proactive sales strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth within the current business
  • Produce weekly sales reports with commentary
  • Host weekly sales meetings to drive the sales pipeline forward
  • To lead by example in all aspects of the sales process including proactive campaigns, enquiry process, sales performance and account management
  • Identify training needs within the team
  • Implement a sales commission structure
  • Achieve individual sales targets
  • Ensure full understanding of the venue logistics and operations
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of key competitors and devise plans to be more successful
  • Identify new opportunities for the business to proactively explore and support where necessary
  • Promote Ultimate Experience and the wider CH&Co Group by demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the business

Qualifications & Skills

  • Be naturally confident, highly driven and have a focused and ambitious nature
  • Have a proven track record of developing and winning new business and significantly growing existing customers both as a commercial leader and sales contributor
  • Have previous experience in delivering successful sales
  • Have experience of developing and coaching team – ability to manage, advise and delegate
  • Excellent listener and communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years of event/venue sales experience
  • Well presented
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
