The role’s core focus will be on the sale of perimeter advertising opportunities across Lagardère Sports’ market leading UK football portfolio (exclusive rights with 30+ teams across English Premier League, EFL Championship, FA Cup and FL Cup). Cross-selling opportunities across other major LS portfolio and non-portfolio assets will also be an important part of the role.

The successful candidate will lead an end-to-end sales process from lead identification and initial approach, to final negotiation and contracting. Aim to become a successful fee earner by being a ‘best-in-class’ sales executive and contributing to the ongoing growth of the organisation.


  • B2B sales to new clients using phone sales techniques to establish relationship and generate face-to-face meetings
    • Clients can range from various industries and sizes, from international corporates to domestic SME’s
  • Leading self-generated sales meetings with both international and domestic clients to pitch products, understand client objectives, build relationships and ultimately secure revenue for the business
    • International travel will be required
  • Lead identification by using sound product knowledge and understanding of sports marketing theory to target different clients, industries and geographies
  • Contact sourcing by proficient use of research tools
    • Paid-for business insight databases / Linked-in / Google / CRM etc
  • Liase with Rights Holders where required to secure rights and product information
  • Liase with Lagardère Sports international territories and subsidiary agencies to understand rights portfolio, availability, pricing, and other relevant data to support sales process
  • Support the Sales Manager, Sales Director and different employees from time to time on other projects, including but not limited to; sales asset creation; creative campaign generation; event management etc
  • Reporting accurately on sales activity, pipeline opportunities, forecasted results
  • Work with the Sales Manager to develop a strategic sales plan around major sponsorship sales, giving specific focus to:
    • Historic sponsors and categories
    • Industry and sector focus
    • Geographical relevance
    • Capacity to buy
    • Sales hooks and pitch
    • Decision making structures
  • Work with the Marketing Team to design and continually upgrade partnership collateral ensuring that all commercial presentations are at a high standard
  • Following successful sales, work with the businesses legal and finance departments to create robust commercial agreements if required
  • Ensure strong after-sales relationship management where necessary to enhance renewal percentages and cross-sales activity
  • Represent Lagardère Sports to the broader market in a way that is consistent with the high standards and professional approach expected of employees

Qualifications & Skills


  • Sales experience in either of the following industries:

1) Sports Marketing, 2) Advertising and media 3) Sponsorship

  • Experience of a high volume, pressurised sales environment
  • Experience of a telesales environment
  • A track record of delivering revenue through sales
  • Education up to A-level
  • IT literate
  • Minimum Two Years Sales Experience

Preferred but not essential

  • Degree Qualification
  • Three years+ Sales Experience
