The Role:

You will have the objective to establish Alpinestars in the cycling market in a position that is appropriate to the brand’s DNA, and lead Alpinestars´ sales effort in Cycling to achieve established turnover and profitability objectives. You will activate a two-way communications channel with Alpinestars’ product engine to ensure that market intelligence is real-time, and integrate Sales, Go-to-market and Product to implement a holistic approach for the Cycling market.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Develop a sales and distribution strategy to position Alpinestars as a leader in cycling apparel and accessories.
  • From that strategy, create a comprehensive sales plan to include:
  • Distribution plan by country or region, including trade channels, distribution partners, key retail relationships and sales representation.
  • Sales goals for each country or region.
  • Develop sales programs and product presentations to support achievement of sales Manage the sales organization to meet or exceed sales and profitability goals.
  • Support subsidiaries and distribution partners in executing Alpinestars’ distribution and sales plans.
  • Ensure that an effective sales organization is in place in each key country or region.
  • Develop/integrate sales reporting and sales management tools to create transparency around sales objectives, progress, opportunities and challenges.
  • Assist with the development and rollout of sales merchandising materials, processes and programs.
  • Assist with the development and rollout of sales merchandising materials, processes and programs.
  • Develop and implement a process for sales forecasting (annual, quarterly, monthly) by country and region, rolling up to create visibility of:
  1. progress towards sales and profitability goals,
  2. product availability requirements and challenges and
  3. opportunities to take market
  • Manage the sales organization team to meet or exceed regional sales budget and profitability goals.
  • Function as the brand liaison in supporting the execution of marketing initiatives in each market at retail.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead Alpinestars’ Cycling Sales Meeting.
  • Serve as the “voice of the consumer” to Alpinestars’ product teams.
  • Maintain a “competitive awareness funnel” to ensure that competitive information is shared in a timely manner throughout the Alpinestars organization
  • As often as possible, attend to Alpinestars Cycling events.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5-7 years relevant experience in similar positions
  • Bachelor and/or Master Degree in a related discipline (Economics, Management, Engineering)
  • Sales and Sales Operations process management and improvement experience
  • Expert knowledge of mountain biking industry
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present concepts together with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Propensity to relationship building and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm and motivation with passion for mountain biking
  • Results-driven attitude with strong determination
  • Time management capacity with ability to prioritize activities
  • Flexibility and open mind with team-orientation
  • Proficiency in MS office tools – Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
  • Fluency in English
  • The position is based in Asolo, Italy
