Sales Manager – IRONMAN

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Sales EMEA, the sales manager will be responsible for driving sponsorship revenue for properties within assigned region. They will be responsible for achieving the company objectives of sales, growth and profitability while ensuring to align IRONMAN with the proper brands and partners.


  • Sponsorship sales of races and events including IRONMAN, IRONMAN 70.3, 5150, Iron Girl, IRONKIDS Series
  • Create packages with event assets in order to drive new revenue
  • Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of the target clients/prospects for your products
  • Prepare exciting and creative proposals to attract new sponsors
  • Liaise with the service teams regularly to ensure sponsor satisfaction in and around the building on deliverables according to contract and growing clients into larger programs
  • Prepare contractual agreements for sponsors in accordance with company policy
  • Support Sales Team in promoting the business mission and prepare weekly sales report for management
  • Develop new ideas and programs for sales team to sell and drive revenue
  • Assist team with development of digital packages
  • Achieve assigned revenue goals
  • Generate leads and sell sponsorship for Ironman in line with the agreed yearly revenue targets
  • Generate leads and sell sponsorship for other Ironman events as required
  • Representing Ironman at events in a professional manner at all times
  • Overseeing fulfilment and payments from your clients to ensure payments are made to agreed Ironman policy guidelines

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales management, with a Sports Property background
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales metrics
  • Mass participation experience
  • Ability to negotiate, close deals and influence key stakeholders
  • Strong telephone sales skills, engaging clients, making leads happen
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Experience of managing pipelines and databases
  • A good contact and network base
  • Team player
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft CRM
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • High level of motivation and drive with the ability to initiate sales with limited hands-on guidance
  • Target driven
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Commercially aware and customer-focused
