Our client is a leading PR and Digital Marketing agency for endurance sport.

They talk authentically to passionate and knowledgeable cyclists, runners and endurance athletes through specialist and national media, and through owned channels, in both the UK and Europe.

The company has doubled in size in the last year and from our roots in cycling we are expanding our offering into running, endurance and outdoor markets in the UK and Europe.

Founded in 2008, their portfolio includes a number of leading clients across endurance sport.

The Role

This endurance sport PR and Digital Marketing agency, is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Account Executive to join their versatile and fast-paced PR team. The candidate will have at least two years’ previous experience in PR – in-house or agency – and be very passionate about sport. A good knowledge of cycling, running and endurance sport – both from a participation and sporting standpoint – is desirable.

Working as part of a growing team, the successful candidate will be comfortable working on a variety of different projects. They will implement clients’ PR strategies, from writing and managing press releases and features, to media outreach and assisting on events. They will also mentor junior members of the PR team, using their prior experience. The candidate should be a self-starter and be confident pro-actively pitching ideas and stories, securing overage, as well as building relationships with key media.

As a Senior Account Executive you will work across a number of clients within the endurance sport sector. You will be responsible for implementing their PR strategies, from writing and managing press releases and features, to media outreach and assisting on events.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coming up with creative ideas, proactive and reactive news stories and will have great relationship management skills. They also need to have excellent attention to detail, a first class writing ability and be able to provide ongoing day-to-day support across several clients. They will be comfortable on the phone and meeting new people, as well as being a multitasker.

Responsibilities

  • To have a deep understanding of your clients and represent their interests in media
  • Writing press releases, feature articles, opinion pieces, case studies and other materials, as needed by clients
  • Expanding our relationships with media contacts and generating press lists for individual clients or campaigns
  • Monitoring coverage of any news releases or articles published
  • Following up with journalists to arrange interviews or provide additional information
  • Researching and recommending feature opportunities in relevant publications
  • Negotiating with editorial teams to secure coverage for clients
  • Supporting and attending client events
  • Answering media enquiries and arranging interviews
  • Participating in client meetings and producing reports for clients

Qualifications & Skills

The right candidate will be versatile and knowledgeable about various types of media. They will be a team player and be able to work in an exciting, changing and fast-paced environment.

  • Two years PR agency or client-side PR experience
  • Able to confidently and comfortably liaise with a large network of ongoing contacts and leads
  • Proven record of securing high quality press coverage
  • Able to clearly and concisely communicate with account managers and clients on a regular basis, in an organised and professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Organised with the ability to multitask
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong media relations skills
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Confident and creative with a good imagination
  • Hard working and results driven
  • Able to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative
  • Flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure
