Before the launch of Catapult and its ground breaking technology, monitoring elite athletes was predominantly laboratory-based, relying on participants using gym equipment, which, because these conditions did not mimic that of “in competition” demands, the athletes were not physically exerting themselves in the same way they would during competition.
The development of wearable sensors by CRC meant that this monitoring became more accessible to athletes, and more routinely deployable. Catapult was born out of the AIS and the cooperative research centres bringing together sport and science.
Catapult is now the global leader in athlete analytics, protecting thousands of elite athletes at the intersection of sport science and analytics.
In order to support the rapidly growing client base throughout China, Catapult requires the services of a field-based sports scientist to provide customer education, demonstrations, support and consultancy. They also expect this role to contribute to Catapult’s extensive research and development program and their sports specific advisory team(s).
This role will report to Senior Sports Scientist based in Melbourne, and will work with BD manager in China to assist Pre/Post sales activities. At Catapult, this person will be on the ground floor of a developing team. His/her attitude and character will shape the global brand and will make a difference in the lives of athletes and the Catapult team.
